Plug-In Solar Guide is an independent, reader-supported guide to plug-in solar in the United States. We started it because the answer to "can I plug solar panels into my wall?" was scattered across bill texts, utility PDFs and Reddit threads, and it changes every few months.

How we work

• State pages are built from the bill or statute text and official announcements, with links so you can check for yourself. Each page shows the date it was last reviewed.
• Product data comes from manufacturer spec sheets, certification databases and independent tests. Prices are dated.
• We do not sell kits or install anything. We earn money from affiliate links and clearly labeled sponsorships. See our disclosure.

Corrections

If a law has changed or a number is wrong, tell us. We would rather fix it today than be wrong for a week.
